Purpose and Targets

The target of ANGIAD which aims to work without compromising its Ataturkist, secular and democratic line, is in line with the social responsibility awareness, spirit of solidarity and leadership qualities of young business people in Ankara, acting under the principle of continuous development and in cooperation with the other non-governmental organizations, public and private institutions and organizations to contribute to the economic, touristic, social and cultural development of Ankara and our country, to the solution of its problems, to Ankara being a “European Capital” worthy of itself, and to Turkey’s accession to the European Union in this sense.

While determining the projects that will carry out or support the economic, touristic, social and cultural structure of Ankara, ANGIAD will first make the necessary analyzes for a correct strategic planning. In this sense, Ankara’s strengths and weaknesses, advantages and disadvantages, positive and negative aspects, opportunities and risks will be determined in terms of the projects in question. After analyzing all the requirements related to the project, it is one of the main objectives of ANGIAD to carry out these projects or to give direction by cooperating with the authorities to carry out these projects by determining clear, measurable, achievable, realistic, time and material-coherent goals in the short, medium and long term.

For example, it is among the objectives of ANGIAD to prepare the necessary ground for the Defense Industry Fairs, which were previously held in Ankara and still be organized in Istanbul, to be held regularly in Ankara every year since 2010, and to enable an international exhibition center to become operational. ANGIAD will give its financial and moral support for the realization of this project, which it believes will contribute greatly to the promotion and economic growth of Ankara. ANGIAD will also ensure the implementation of a Disneyland project in Ankara, which can be beneficial to the economy and promotion of the capital.

Aiming, among other things, to develop the leadership qualities of Ankara Young Business People, ANGIAD aims to provide the necessary knowledge and equipment to ensure that its members take a safe place in society, ready for local, national and international competition, and have a prominent and permanent place in the international system to support young business persons and extends the hand of friendship to all young business people. First of all, it is among the objectives of ANGIAD to provide commercial cooperation among the members of ANGIAD, to prepare the necessary ground for this, to encourage and support it, then to increase the brand value of its members in the local, national and international arenas, and to raise the flag of its members, of ANGIAD and of our country to the highest levels. On this road to success, ANGIAD will regularly organize brand conferences every year and reward business people who are successful in their field.

ANGIAD aims to establish the institutional and legal infrastructure of the market economy of Ankara and our country, to ensure that the business world can continue its activities in accordance with the principles of universal business ethics, and to establish liberal economy rules in Turkey. ANGIAD is the cradle of democracy in Turkey, with each president being elected as president for once. In addition, it aims to support policies aiming at the most effective use of the country, the environment, human and natural resources by supporting technological innovations and increasing competitiveness.

ANGIAD does not work institutionally for any political purpose. Our members may have different political views individually; but they cannot act as members, supporters or sides to any political party within ANGIAD. In local and general elections, they can individually identify their political parties and work until the election process. In this sense, ANGIAD aims to work in full cooperation with elected and appointed persons and institutions, to always maintain its supra-partisan position and to work within a full understanding of democracy both inside and outside.

ANGIAD, which sets out by discussing its opinions and suggestions on current and ongoing issues in the national and international fields related to Ankara and our country, by the public as well as its own organization, by conducting various research in line with this purpose, conducts studies and conferences, panels, research and reports on strategic issues on both national and international issues in the country and abroad. ANGIAD which draws its strength from its youth and unity in its work aims to announce its work to its members and the public through the bulletins, books and magazines it publishes, as well as various radio and television programs.

In the light of the above-mentioned issues, the principles that ANGIAD, as a non-governmental organization due to its existence and definition, want to preserve, together with the impact it wants to create in the economic, touristic, social and cultural structure, and the changes it aims, are as follows:

1- The members of the ANGIAD, who love Ankara and Turkey, aim to be beneficial for Ankara and Turkey in parallel to that,

2- Within the framework of this purpose, adhering to the universal principles of democracy and human rights, respectful to the freedoms of enterprise, belief and thought, loyal to Atatürk’s goal and principles of contemporary civilization, helping the development of the social structure and the establishment of a democratic civil society and secular state of law understanding, preserving our cultural values ​​and ensuring universality, and to to ensure compliance with the rule of law with full faith,

3- Implementing democracy without any interruption throughout this process, pioneering the establishment of democracy in the country according to the EU norms, keeping moral values ​​at the forefront, helping the development of the social structure in Turkey and the establishment of a democratic civil society and rule-of-law mentality,

4- All people living in our beautiful country, especially our politicians, all non-governmental organizations that are the elements of democracy, all of our constitutional institutions and all elements of our media contribute to the establishment of a consensus based on the principles of “peace, love, tolerance, social reconciliation” and consider this task a duty of everyone, by extending his own hand first,

5-The operation and continuation of the free market economy in accordance with the rules of equality, increasing the private sector power of dynamic business persons with new investments, and continuing to serve the spread of industrial property to the base, by adopting the principle of going public, and thus helping to reduce inequalities in income distribution,

6- Supporting policies aiming to increase competitiveness by creating an environment that will ensure the most effective use of the country’s natural resources by supporting technological innovations, and the increase in productivity and quality,

7- Contributing to the development of the socio-economic level of the society by expressing opinions to the authorities relevant in the formation and implementation of industrial and commercial policies that concern business persons, increasing the qualifications of business persons, their social responsibilities and the spirit of solidarity,

8- To expand the professional exchange of information required for the development of industry, which is the cornerstone of economic development, and to encourage studies on this subject to identify the general problems of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to develop definitive and permanent solutions to these problems in cooperation with authorized public institutions,

9- Establishing the necessary conditions for its members to conduct transfer of information and to provide business contacts in a way that will enable them to make investments in the country and abroad, especially in the Turkic Republics, European and Asian countries, the United States of America and Russia, and also to develop bilateral commercial relations,

10- By organizing business persons, non-governmental organizations and ministries according to the budget of Ankara and Turkey, ensuring that the resource is used in a controlled and systematic way, increasing the professional knowledge of the business persons who are members in this period at the beginning of the age of information, providing strong organizational structures and a qualified and adequate management by their managers, providing the necessary consultation and cooperation, increasing the sense of belonging and motivation with member-oriented studies, organizing economic panels every month to increase the solidarity among the members in this sense, and to make it easier to follow the rapidly changing economic and social agenda of our country and to develop the foresight of members of ANGIAD as prudent businessmen,

11- Establishing regulations that will enable women to take a more active role in the business world in Ankara and Turkey, encouraging women as employers and employees, supporting women’s workforce, making positive discrimination for women to increase women’s employment, giving priority to women entrepreneurs in public tenders for a certain period of time, and tax and employment of women, ensuring that it is supported with premium incentives, increasing the number of female members, ensuring that business women participate in ANGIAD and being more active within the association, ensuring that business women take part in structuring and operation of ANGIAD by making positive discrimination in terms of female members, especially in the Board of Directors and Commissions within ANGIAD, establishing women’s units and creating a database for women in the chambers, opening job opportunities, courses, workshops and bazaars where our women can improve their hand skills, cooperating with other non-governmental organizations in order to ensure that especially girls are educated, and ensuring that ANGIAD members show sensitivity in this regard,

12-Ensuring that ANGIAD is registered as a brand, encouraging and supporting the brands formed in Ankara and laying the groundwork for the formation of new brands, rewarding business persons who are successful in their field in Ankara with an annual event, thus encouraging and supporting business persons to be successful,

13-Ensuring the development of short-medium-long-term projects by collaborating with the Ankara Development Agency, contributing to the prevention of unplanned development of Ankara as a result of these studies, as well as encouraging business persons to make investments in the areas needed, organizing such investments, helping them to invest in such investments to ensure that Ankara reaches the position it deserves among the European Capitals by making partnerships,

14- Ensuring the economic, touristic, social and cultural development and promotion of Ankara and its districts, preserving the historical and natural values ​​that are the most important assets of Ankara, the culture created by the people who have lived here for generations, and enriching it and transferring it to future generations, increasing tourism revenues by developing new service areas such as preserving and protecting historical values, especially Ankara Castle, and carrying out restoration works, providing accommodation by building restaurants and hotels in these environments, protecting the natural resources of Ankara, afforestation, ensuring that places with touristic values ​​are opened to tourism, encouraging the business persons for projects aimed at touristic regions, to contribute to the production of permanent solutions by examining the problems of Ankara, to create various projects to increase the welfare of the people living in Ankara and to provide them with a modern and peaceful living environment, showing the changing face of Ankara, known as the city of civil servants, students and retired persons, by using the media organs, trying to make Ankara, the Capitol of our Republic, the economic capitol of Turkey at the same time,

15-Encouraging innovation-oriented activities among universities, schools, research institutions and business circles locally, nationally and internationally, supporting education, establishing a link between education and the business world, ensuring that youth and women are fully integrated into the economy through cooperatives and other new business fields, granting scholarships to successful but poor students, providing education and job opportunities to street children, enabling young people, who are the biggest capital of our country, to take a more active role in Turkey’s economic, social and cultural development,

16- Carrying out activities for the purpose of instilling environmental awareness and protectionism to society, businesses and individuals, providing energy production and energy savings based on renewable energy sources, preparing for natural disasters, creating a disaster management plan, supporting projects for environmental protection,

17-  In line with the interests of our members, ensuring that the members receive the products they are buying under more favorable conditions by making institutional cooperation agreements as an association.
