Structure and Operation
Purpose
ANGIAD, which has been carrying out its work through commissions since 1991, is a non-governmental organization of which members are respected and young business persons. Its structure includes a General Assembly, Board of Directors, Supervisory Board, Disciplinary Board, High Advisory Board and Commissions.
The main sectors in ANGIAD’s structure are construction, energy, food, textile, automotive, health, transportation, industry and tourism. In the structuring of ANGIAD, participating in seminars, conferences and meetings organized by ANGIAD and other non-governmental organizations, cooperating with private and public institutions in order to promote exports take place as well as organizing picnics, excursions, sports events, evenings and cocktails and other activities in order to ensure meet-and-greet, cohesion and solidarity among the members of the association.
Operation
The bodies that ensure the structuring and functioning of ANGIAD are the Board of Directors consisting of 25 permanent and 25 substitute members, the High Advisory Board consisting of 30 permanent and 30 substitute members, the Disciplinary Board consisting of 3 permanent and 3 substitute members, the Supervisory Board consisting of 3 permanent and 3 substitute members, and 19 Commissions..
In the operation of ANGIAD, first of all, the Committees are selected, and then the permanent and substitute members of the Board of Directors, Supervisory Board, Board of Honor and High Advisory Board are selected from the list prepared by the Commissions, provided that they receive the majority of votes.
High Advisory Board and Commissions should work more actively by expressing their opinions in parallel with the Board of Directors while carrying out external activities with, such as, the Prime Ministry, Ministries, Parliament, Chambers of Commerce and Industry that will bind the institutional structure of the association.
High Advisory Board and Commissions may organize panels, events and invitations. In all activities to be carried out within this structure, the budget of the financial distribution of these three main bodies operating within ANGIAD is managed in such a way that 10% belongs to the High Advisory Board, 20% to the Commissions and 70% to the Board of Directors. While determining the subject, date and place of the activities to be carried out by the High Advisory Board and the Commissions, arrangements should be made taking into account the program of the Board of Directors. Elections within ANGIAD are held in every 3 years, and it is against ANGIAD’s understanding of democracy that a member who presides for one term also presides in the second term. It is also unethical for persons who have been elected twice to become a member of the Board of Directors for the third time. However, it is possible for a person who has been a member of the Board of Directors for two terms to be a candidate for the Presidency.
