Basic Law of Members

Without ignoring the right to be a political party’s advocate or supporter, every company owner, manager or member authorized to represent a company which is a member of the association, will pursue the idea that “ANGIAD takes part on the side of business world only” as a member of ANGIAD. All ANGIAD members are obliged to be prudent businessmen and businesswomen, to participate in the activities of the association at the highest level, and to duly fulfill the responsibilities they have assumed within the bodies of the association.

In all kinds of studies related to their sector, among the activities of ANGIAD members first come primarily, for example, to express an opinion on this law if there is a law related to the sector, to make appointments with all relevant ministries, bodies and similar authorities by making the necessary objections in case of a situation that may cause problems in the business world related to the sector, by applying to the relevant commission within the association and following the studies related to the said opinions and objections and presenting them to the relevant commissions and the Board of Directors for the purpose of finalizing them.

Membership Conditions

a) PERMANENT MEMBERSHIP : Real persons who have the capacity to act can become members of the association. It is obligatory to apply to the board of directors in writing to become a member. The advice of two members of the association is sought for the admission of a person who wishes to become a member of the association. If the person who wants to become a member of the association knows only one member of the association, the member referring introduces the person who wants to become a member of the association to another member and his application is received after he has participated in at least two activities of the association. The Member Admission Commission evaluates the application within 7 days at the latest and presents its report to the Board of Directors with its opinion. The Board of Directors discusses the candidate member’s application and makes its decision. This period cannot exceed 30 days from the date of application. Non-Turkish citizens are also required to have the right to reside in Turkey. In case of refusal to become a member, there is no obligation to state a reason, and the decision taken about the member whose application is not accepted is notified in writing by the Secretary General of the Association. The Secretary General of the Association announces the member accepted to the association to the members of the association and gives written information to the member by performing the procedures regarding the acceptance.

b) HONORARY MEMBERSHIP : Honorary memberships may be granted to persons from the scientific and business world who are deemed appropriate by the decision of the Board of Directors. In addition, for the members who have completed the age of 49, their primary membership ends and they become honorary members. Honorary members can participate in the activities of the Association, but cannot vote in the General Assembly. Payment of dues are voluntary. There is no residency requirement for honorary membership. Association members have equal rights. There is no difference in language, race, color, gender, religion, nationality and sect, family, group and class among the members. Members have the right to participate in the activities of the association and to obtain information. E-mail is essential in communicating with members.

Members can leave the association at any time. They must report this request to the Board of Directors with a letter and return the association’s fixtures, and they have to pay their accumulated debts, if any.

a) Those who do not pay their dues without an excuse within 30 days from the notification day despite the written request of the Board of Directors,

b) Those who act contrary to the laws and the rules of the association or which harm the purpose,

c)Those who are proven to be convicted for an act that requires a disgraceful or heavy penalty,

d) Those who have been dismissed from the association in accordance with subparagraph (a) can be re-registered with the decision of the Board of Director

e) Those who have been dismissed from the association in accordance with subparagraph (a) can be re-registered with the decision of the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors notifies the Disciplinary Board in a letter about the status of the member who has performed the actions described above. The Disciplinary Committee examines the status of the member by inviting the member to the meeting. As a result of the examination, the Disciplinary Board reports its opinion in writing to the Board of Directors. This period cannot exceed 15 days from the notification of the letter about the member. After receiving the opinion of the Disciplinary Committee, the Board of Directors makes the decision to terminate membership and notifies the member. The member may object to this decision to the General Assembly through the Board of Directors within 15 days from the date of notification. In this case, the final decision is taken at the first meeting of the General Assembly. The member whose membership has been terminated can attend this meeting only as an audience, and if necessary, his defense is heard. The decision of the General Assembly is final.

Members are required to pay the accumulated dues. The Board of Directors notifies the Board of Honor of the member who should be dismissed from the association. The decision to terminate membership is taken by the Court of Honor. This decision is notified to the member by the Board of Directors. The member may object to this decision to the General Assembly through the Board of Directors within 15 days from the date of notification. In this case, the final decision is taken at the first meeting of the General Assembly. The member whose membership has been terminated can only attend this meeting as an audience, and if necessary, his defenses are heard. Those who leave or are expelled from the Association cannot claim the aid and dues made to the association.
